“Our plans are at the permit office now,” Dantin says.
Dantin and Bruce on Monday closed on nearly 5 acres of land off Jefferson Highway adjacent to Towne Center for $1.28 million. They purchased the land from from IberiaBank, according to records filed with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s office. Mathew Laborde with Beau Box Commercial Real Estate represented both the buyer and seller in the deal.
Dantin says they plan to build between eight and nine buildings in the office park, most of which will measure between 5,000 and 6,000 square feet. There’s also room for a 20,000-square-foot building on an out parcel at the front of the property, Dantin says. The park will eventually house close to 60,000 square feet of office space total, he says. Offices will be built-to-suit and one of the spaces has already been sold to an as-yet-unnamed tenant.
Dantin says the area is attractive for offices because employees will be able to walk to restaurants and shops in the nearby Towne Center without getting in their cars. Dantin says the buildings will feature sustainable designs, “with a little bit of modern flair to it.” —Kelly Connelly
